Welcome from Brian and Family

Dear Friends,

Becky, Chauncey, Tatymn and I would like to welcome you all to our 19th annual bull sale. This year we are going to offer 21 high performing Charolais bulls, 15 calving ease and growth Red Angus Bulls and 3 percentage bulls that offer the best of both worlds. This will mark my family’s 62nd year raising Charolais cattle and our 22nd year in the Red Angus business. I know I say it every year but I think these are the best bulls I have ever offered. In todays market situation I think everyone is looking to add value to their calf crop. Of all the breeds out there I truly believe that these two are the front runners for adding value. There are no better feedlot performance cattle than the Charolais cross. No matter if you are selling feeder cattle or feeding cattle out Charolais cross cattle are topping the markets across the country with their feed conversion, gainability, and the ability to hang a choice carcass with a yield grade 1 or 2. On the flip side, if you are looking at selling replacement type heifers it is evident that the Red Angus breed has the market cornered in that area. In no other breed will the heifer calves outsell the steers. Charolais cattle have been the performance leader for over 60 years in this country and simply put, more pounds equals more money. This set of bulls has a genetic history that is matched by no other herd in the United States. I am very proud of what we have done. This set of Red Angus bulls represent genetics from some of the biggest names in the Red Angus breed along with my own herd sires that offer a very balanced EPD package along with calving ease and performance. There is nothing out there that is more sought after right now than the Red Angus female, this set of bulls will produce calves that will feed well and make great momma cows. The bulls have been developed on a high roughage ration that promotes healthy rumen development, sound feet and legs, and allows the bulls to make an easy transition to the range conditions they must survive in. These bulls are extremely lean yet heavy muscled and will not fall apart halfway through the breeding season. The weather this year has presented some unusual challenges and we were not able to semen test the bulls prior to the sale. Scrotal measurements will be available at sale time and we will take the bulls home and test them when the weather eases up a little bit. If you would prefer to take your bulls home sale day we will deduct $50 from the purchase price and guarantee the bulls to pass a semen test. We would like to invite you to come and inspect the bulls anytime before the sale. If you know of anyone that may be interested in our program please contact me at 605-203-1289 and I will get information out to them. Our sale will be held at Huron Continental Marketing in Huron SD, and will be starting at 1:00 pm cst. We will assist in delivery anywhere in the region. The sale will be broadcast on the internet at www.cattleusa.com so in the case that you won’t be able to attend, please contact me and I can assist you in bidding online or over the phone. We will assist you on delivery and sight unseen purchases are guaranteed.

Thank you very much for your interest,

Brian & Family
